2027: Don’t Kill ADC, Dele Momodu Tells Kachikwu

By Diafa Doubra,
Veteran journalist and politician, Dele Momodu, has appealed to Dumebi Kachikwu, presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2023 elections, not to destroy the party ahead of the 2027 polls.
Momodu, who made the appeal in a statement, expressed concern that internal wrangling and poor leadership could weaken the ADC’s chances of building itself into a credible alternative to Nigeria’s dominant parties. He noted that the party had once shown promise as a platform for reform-minded Nigerians but is now at risk of collapse if urgent steps are not taken.
He urged Kachikwu to put aside personal interests and work towards uniting members, stressing that opposition parties must remain strong if democracy is to thrive. According to him, smaller political parties like ADC play a vital role in giving Nigerians more choices at the ballot.
Momodu warned that if internal disputes are not resolved, the ADC may lose relevance completely before 2027, thereby denying Nigerians a fresh political option.
