8 Division Hosts Spectacular Carol Service As GOC Reaffirms Commitment to a Secure Yuletide Season

The 8 Division Nigerian Army and Sector 2 Joint Task Force (JTF) North West Operation FANSAN YAMMA under the leadership of Major General Ibikunle Ademola Ajose, ushered in the festive season with its 2025 Christmas Carol of Nine Lessons .

The event brought together member of security and paramilitary agencies, personnel, their families, and community friends for an evening of music, fellowship, and reflection at the Giginya Cantonment, Sokoto.

In his goodwill message, Major General Ajose extended heartfelt Christmas greetings to all attendees, thanking them for celebrating the joyous occasion with the Division.

A statement by the Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations 8 Division Nigerian Army Lieut. Col. Olaniyi Osoba said, Major General Ajose took the opportunity to commend the personnel for their unwavering dedication to securing the Division’s Area of Responsibility (AOR). According to the GOC, this season is a time for gratitude and reflection.

“I want to extend my deepest appreciation to the gallant men and women of the 8 Division for your tireless efforts. Your commitment, in collaboration with our sister agencies is worth mentioning. It is through this dedication that we can guarantee a peaceful and secure environment for all.”He said

The evening was filled with melodious and festive cheer, featuring soul-stirring performances from several esteemed choirs, including the Combined Choir of Protestant and Roman Catholic 8 DivIsion, Sokoto Deanery Choir and organizations of African Independent Churches (OAIC) among others.

The event was also graced by several distinguished guests, demonstrating the strong inter-agency collaboration in Sokoto.

The Christmas Carol of Nine Lessons was a vibrant showcase of unity and faith, reinforcing the strong bonds within the 8 Division Cantonment family and its host community.
