Foremost Niger Delta rights and environmental activist, Comrade Ozobo Austin has congratulated High Chief Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo on his 52’th birth anniversary celebration.

This was contained in a statement by himself which a copy was sent to a Congress correspondent in Warri, on Wednesday.

Ozobo, speaking during the peace walk in Warri Delta state on Wednesday morning, said Tompolo was declared wanted not because he had a personal beef with the federal government
but for asking for a better deal for his people in Niger Delta.

In a birthday message that he posted on his Facebook timeline titled, “Happy birth anniversary to Tompolo, a man who sleeps in the forest and creeks for the comfort of his people”, Ozobo described Tompolo as a messiah of the Niger Delta region.

The statement reads, “Our liberator is plus one today. He is High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo. He is my mentor. I call him, the Mandela of our time. I call him, the Abraham Lincoln of our time. I call him, the Martin Luther King Jr. I call him, the Major Jasper Adaka Boro incarnate. He is the pathfinder and torch bearer of the Niger Delta region. Many are called but few are chosen. He is among the few chosen Liberators on Earth.

“Tompolo means different things to different people. Some see him as a living legend, some see him as a peace ambassador, some see him as a philanthropist, some see him as king of the jungle, and some see him as a Niger Delta warlord. But I called him the strategic and tactical Liberator. He is a resilient fighter, a calm thinker, a strategic decision maker and a listener. A man who has empowered uncountable people. A man who discomforts himself to please Niger Delta and the Ijaw nation should be celebrated.

” A man who decided to sleep in the forest and creeks for the comforts of his people. The smile of his brothers and sisters is what gives him joy. He has declared wanted not because he had a personal beef with the federal government but for asking for a better deal for his people. His father was brutalized and died as a result of that. His kingdom and others were bombed because he wants a better deal for his people. He lives in hunger and discomfort of the highest order for the sake of his people. He did so many personal sacrifices for the sake of the Niger Delta and that has given us the speaking space we are enjoying today.

“All I can say is we will stand with you as you keep on liberating the Niger Delta region.

“Once again, happy birthday, our leader!”
