Imam in police net over threat to kill policeman

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a Muslim leader in Oyo State, Ahmed Atidade for threatening to kill a policeman in the state.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, disclosed that the incident occurred on February 4, 2023.

Adejobi added the Islamic leader assaulted and threatened to kill a policeman on stop-and-search duty along the Ibadan Express Road, in Oyo State.

He noted that the 28-year-old Islamic cleric “was subsequently arrested and charged to court.”

The State police spokesman said, “We will do everything possible to defend our officers who carry out their duties diligently and legally from being harassed or attacked by any individual or group of persons.”
