BREAKING: PDP’s Fintiri clinches Adamawa Guber Election

The governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has been declared winner of the Adamawa governorship election after a controversial supplementary elections.

Fintiri’s declaration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday was followed by its resumption of collation of results from Saturday’s supplementary poll.

The results announced by INEC revealed that Fintiru polled 430,821 votes to defeat Aisha Binani, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 396,788.

It would be recalled that the Adamawa governorship election was marred with infractions after the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hudu Yunusa-Ari declared Binani winner of the poll under alleged questionable circumstances.
