The Kaduna Police Command arrested 350 suspected criminals who have been rampaging in the state on Tuesday.

The Kaduna Police Command Headquarters, DSC Mohammed Jalige, Police Public Relations Officer in the state, said while parading the suspects, the command had launched a serious manhunt on the criminals, following the Public Out-Cry on the nefarious activities of these criminal elements otherwise known as ‘Sara suka’, operating within the city centre.

He said the gallant determination of the personnel had yielded a positive result as the following exhibits were recovered from the suspects; illicit drugs, 57 bags of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp equivalent to 1710kg, snatched phones, sharp knives, scissors and cudgels. These include master keys, vehicles and motorcycles of different brands.

The state PPRO said some suspects had been charged to court while others are undergoing discreet investigation, adding that they would also be charged to a court of competent jurisdiction after the investigation

“It is worthy to mention that miscreants who have adopted a new modus operandi in disposing of law-abiding citizens of their valuables by spraying a substance suspected to be acid on their victims, especially in Malali and Badarawa general areas, have equally been arrested and currently undergoing investigation,” he said.

He advised residents not to relent but to always report all incidents of criminals to the nearest police station, and avoid taking laws into their hands.
