Abia Assembly Impeachment Saga: More members suffer Suspension

Following the impeachment of Hon. Chinedum Orji, over alleged gross misconduct, Abia House of Assembly has again suspended the deputy speaker and eight other members of the Assembly.

An aftermath to the impeachment of the Speaker, Hon. Chinedum Orji, the Abia House of Assembly has suspended the Deputy Speaker, Mr. Ifeanyi Uchendu, and eight other members.

According to Orji, who presided over the plenary session, the Lawmakers’ immediate suspension is for a month without salary. Among the Assembly members suspended are;

Aaron Uzodike (Aba North), Chukwudi Apugo (Umuahia East), and Kennedy Njoku (Osisioma North)

The remaining representatives were Thomas Nkoro (Obingwa West), Okey Igwe (Umunneochi), Chikwendu Kalu (Isiala Ngwa South), Obinna Ichitta (Aba South), and Chijioke Chukwu (Minority Leader – Bende North).

Recall, that Congress News had earlier reported about an alleged gross misconducts by Honourable Chinedum Orji which led to his impeachment.

It was gathered that Hon. Chinedum Orji is the son of former Abia state governor, Orji Kalu.
