Police Apprehend DJ Maphorisa For Assaulting Girlfriend

The men of Sandton police officers, South Africa, have arrested famous South African Disk Jockey, Sonnyboy Sekowe, popularly called Dj Maphorisa for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.

It was reported that the popular Dj assaulted his actress film-maker, Thuli Phongolo during disagreement on home issues.

Sandton police officers arrested Dj Maphorisa after a report by his girlfriend that the aggressive DJ slapped her in the face after a heated misunderstanding.

Phongolo emphasized that during the assault, her boyfriend, DJ Maphorisa took her phone which he later released.

However, a domestic abuse case has been opened against the popular Dj.

Phongolo wrote in her statement at the station “On Sunday, May 7, at about noon, I was at my boyfriend, Themba Sonnyboy Sekowe, popularly known as Dj Maphorisa

“I confronted him so that we can talk about our argument, which happened the previous night during his gig.

“He became aggressive and started to punch me with his fists on my chest. He held me and took me to the balcony, and grabbed me aggressively by my neck”
