Daily Report Holds 3rd Anniversary, Merit & Honorary Awards May 26

A popular media house under the branding of Daily Reports Nigeria will mark its 3rd Anniversary, Merit & Honorary Awards on May 26, 2023.

The Daily Media ‘N’ Publishing LTD is an online publishing firm, it provides and distributes accurate information and entertainment content across the globe.

The company, in a statement, hinted that it would equally launch a mobile app to reach more Nigerians and give users a more handy way of reading the news.

The management said, “We have come a long way right from our first published content and steadily walking up to this point.

“Three years down the line and we are only charged, inspired and encouraged to serve our exponentially growing audience more.

“As an organisation poised with taking advantage of the benefits that technology brings, the commemoration of our third anniversary will feature the launch of our mobile application on the Google Play store. This will enable us to reach more Nigerians with our professionally curated content with user-configured prompts.”

The managing director, Tare Magbei who holds a brief on behalf of the media firm said the organisation was set to honour ‘deserving’ Deltans during its Merit and Honourary Awards.

He further posited, “The Delta Edition of the Merit and Honorary Awards (MaHA) is aimed at recognizing and honouring outstanding impacts of leaders across both public and private sectors in Delta State.

“The ceremony is set to promote outstanding leaders and personalities whose impacts have been felt in the political, social, and economic spheres of the state.

“The award will feature voting and non-voting categories. Nominees and schedule of the event will be announced in the coming days,” he narrated.

According to the director, the maiden edition of the MAHA forms part of the events mapped out by the online newspaper in commemorating its third anniversary.

MAHA Delta Edition 2023 Award Categories

1. Best Assembly Member

This award recognizes the most outstanding 7th assembly member of the Delta State House of Assembly. Winners will be judged on their performance on the floor of the house, as well as oversight functions.

2. Best Rep Member

This award recognizes the most outstanding 9th assembly member of the Federal House of Representatives. Winners will be judged on their performance on the floor of the house, as well as oversight functions.

3. Best Senator
This award recognizes the most outstanding Senator of the 9th Assembly. Winners will be judged by their performance on the floor of the house, as well as oversight functions.

5. LGA Chairman
This award recognizes the best-performing Council Chairman of the incumbent administration in the state. Winners will be judged on their performance in project execution, social welfare and intervention measures.

6. Councilor
This award recognizes the best performing Councilor of the incumbent administration in the state.

Winners will be judged by their performance in their Legislative Arm, social welfare and oversight functions.

7. Entertainer of The Year
This award recognizes an act displaying great competence in all aspects of the entertainment field.

Winners will be adjudged by their in-person performance, public acceptance, leadership, and overall contribution to the entertainment industry in the state.

8. Innovator of The Year
This award celebrates companies, start-ups, producers, and multi-faceted creatives who are rapidly pushing society forward through their work. To put it simply, they’re unique and unlike the rest.

9. Activist of the Year
This award will go to an individual/group of individuals/NGO/informal civic initiative that has a central and impactful role in the human rights field.

10. Sports Personality of The Year

This award goes to the team in an individual that has achieved the most notable performance or contributed to the development of sport in the state.

11. Peace Ambassador

This award recognizes an individual’s conflict management competence in addition to his various achievement in peace-building. It is reserved for personalities who have displayed continuous contributions to the development of peace and conflict resolution in the state.

12. Man of The Year

This award honours a man’s excellent achievements in any sector or industry over the calendar year.

The ideal recipient would have shown extraordinary attention and commitment to their profession, greatly contributing to the growth and development of their industry and the state.

13. Influencer of The Year

This award recognizes the achievements of a person who has used a creative medium such as social media, vlogging, podcasts and TV radio to be a positive role model and enhance the lives of others.

14. Humanitarian of The Year

This award recognizes an individual who has made a great impact on the lives of others through caring.

– Evidenced concern about human beings in special ways through caring behaviour, which is documented and generally recognized by peers.

– Involvement over some time in a cause or situation which benefits others, not self.

15. Media Personality of The Year

The Media Personality of the Year award aims to recognize an individual who has made a valued contribution to the media over a sustained period.

16. Business Man of The Year

This award recognizes an entrepreneur with outstanding business acumen, and excellent leadership skills who has achieved remarkable growth and profitability in their organisation either as an employee or as an owner of a business.

He must be highly motivated and have distinguished achievements in his area of expertise. The candidate must also show a high degree of community engagement.

The ideal winners of the various categories of the MAHA award must have demonstrated exceptional dedication and commitment to the industries referred and must have contributed to its success in a significant way.
