Lagos Govt. Announces Traffic Diversion Over BRT Lane Rehab

Due to the ongoing rehabilitation of the Bus Rapid Transit ( BRT ) lane from Ikorodu to the stadium, the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation has announced the diversion of motorists from Ogolonto Junction, Ikorodu.

In a circular signed by Commissioner of Transportation, Dr Frederick Oladeinde, the diversion of the motorist will commence on Friday, May 12 to Friday, May 19, 2023.

He maintained that the diversion is due to the ongoing rehabilitation of the BRT lane from Ikorodu to Stadium, adding that traffic inbound Majidun and beyond wound be diverted to Agric to make a U-turn to access their expected destination, while traffic inbound Oba Sekumade will be diverted to Majidun to make a U-turn and continue their journey.

The minister assured that the rehabilitation works will be done at night to reduce the inconveniences of motorists.

“In line with the ongoing rehabilitation of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Corridor from Ikorodu to Stadium, the Lagos State Government has announced that traffic will be diverted at Ogolonto Junction from Friday, 12th to Friday, 19th May 2023, (one week) to enable seamless repairs of the failed section” the minister stated.

However, the commissioner pleaded with the motorist to cooperate with the intervention to manage the traffic effectively.
