Tragedy As Traders Count Losses In Ibadan Popular Market Fire

It is a tragic Sunday in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State, as fire gutted a famous Agbeni market.
The market is well known for retailers of daily needs. It’s one of the most extensive and patronized markets in Ibadan.
According to information gathered, the fire started around 4 am on Sunday, 14 May, and lasted for many hours before it was quenched.
The sad incident was confirmed by Yemi Akinyemi, the State General Manager of Fire Services.
Akinyemi affirmed that the agency received a disturbing call at exactly 04:37 am via Sunday Ogundele, who is bank security at Access Bank at Agbeni market.
Mr Akinyemi Loud Ibadan Central Bank of Nigeria, which allowed them to use their water during the battle to quench the fire.
However, the fire has been controlled.
