Cholera Kills Ten – South Africa Health Worker

Following the report of the first cholera death in February 2023 in South Africa, ten more people have died from Cholera complications.

According to information, South Africa reported its first cholera death in February 2023, after the virus arrived in the country from Malawi.

The health department in South Africa on Sunday, May 21 asserted that there are 19 new cases of Cholera in Hammanskraal, which includes 10 deaths.

In the year 2008 / 2009, about 12,000 cases were reported following an outbreak in Zimbabwe which led to a surge of imported cases.

As of the time of this report, no actual cholera figure, but the most populous province of Gauteng, where Johannesburg and Pretoria are situated has been hardest hit by the virus.
