Leaders of the Inikorogha Community in Ovia Southwest Local Government Area of Edo state have visited High Chief Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo to thank him for the peace in the community and Niger Delta at large.

Congress News gathered that on 26/06/2023, the community led by its chairman, Mr Friday Benson visited Tompolo in his Oporoza residence in Gbaramatu kingdom, Warri South West LGA of Delta State to appreciate him for standing by the community in their trying time.

Benson narrated, “For 12 years now, the at large ex-militant, Okubo subjected the people to all forms of inhuman treatments, in the process turned the community into the centre of criminality.

“While this horrendous period was on, the elders and leaders of the Inikorogha community cried to Tompolo two years ago to inform him about the internal slavery their son subjected them to.

“Tompolo as a father to all reached out to Okubo and told him to stop his tyrannical and criminal acts, but being a dog that is destined to lose, he did not listen to Tompolo’s advice, rather he kept terrorizing his people until two months ago when security agencies routed him and his fellow criminals out of the community.

“Now that there is a new dawn and peace in the community, the people deemed it fit to come back to Tompolo to say thank you for everything.”

Among other leaders in the delegation were, Comrade Daniel Ezekiel, Chief Daniel, Elder Benson Ezekiel, Mr. Marvis Ogbe, Youth president, Hon. Kiriyai Perewe and Ebilayefa Sebele, Inikorogha community Edo security network commander.

The chairman, while speaking to newsmen, appealed to Tompolo to continue to support them in all areas. He specifically pleaded with him in the area of burying of late Ama-kosowei of the community, High Chief Joseph Magbuwei and the installation of the new one.

While responding, Tompolo urged all factions to continue to sheath swords and embrace peace for being the same Ijaws. He promised to play his part in the burial and installation of the Ama-kosowei of the community.
