By Sola Omoniyi, Lagos
Following the ongoing subsidy removal crisis by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Ebonyi State government under the control of Governor Francis Nwifuru, has approved an upward increment of workers’ salaries in the state, with N10,000.
This is according to a statement by Jude Okpor, the state’s Commissioner of Information and Orientation, on Friday, July 14, 2023, at Abakaliki.
He stated that the executive has approved an immediate increase of N10, 000 to all Ebonyi State workers.
He asserted that the issues of workers’ salary were raised during the Executive Council Meeting, and the state governor who led the council has approved an immediate increment of N10,0000 to state workers to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
However, the Commissioner emphasized the issue of water scarcity in the state, noting that the governor has ensured urgent provision of water to all residents.
