More excitement as Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom celebrates 1005th Amafini Ogeh festival

The historic town of Ogbe-Ijoh in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State came alive on Saturday as the ancient kingdom celebrated the 1005th edition of its annual Amafini Ogeh Festival.

The colorful ceremony, which showcased the rich cultural heritage of the Ogbe-Ijoh people, drew dignitaries, traditional chiefs, and enthusiasts from far and wide.

The festival, a significant event in the kingdom’s calendar, featured a range of activities, including traditional dances, music, and rituals. The celebration also provided a platform for the people to reconnect with their roots and honour their ancestors.

Activities marking the festival included a grand procession, cultural performances, masquerade and the display of traditional artifacts. The event was attended by prominent figures, including traditional rulers, community leaders, and government officials.
