Marginalization: N- Delta media executives task oil firms, state govts on dev, youth employment

Following the one-Day Niger Delta annual media dinner held by Gbaramatuvoice newspaper, the oil multinational firms, federal and Niger Delta state governments have been tasked to focus on the development of the region and empowerment of its youths as part of efforts to tackle continuous agitation.This position was reached by Niger Delta media executives/publishers in a communique shortly after the one-day event which was graced by media personalities across Niger Delta region.
In the communique signed jointly by Asiayei Enaibo, GM Gbaramatuvoice and Rume Ogane facilitator, the participants highlighted the “massive potentialities of the Niger Delta region as an investment as well as cultural and tourism hub”.
The publishers and veteran writers enjoined Oil multinational companies, federal and state governments to set in motion workable and media plans for sustainable awareness on the desirability of effectively changing the negative narratives in the Niger Delta region with a view to fast-tracking inflow of gainful investments and economic activities to the region.According to the communique, stakeholders should as a matter of urgency, deploy the necessary information technology for awareness creation on the limitless investment opportunities in the Niger Delta region.
