Following the alignment and realignment in the Nigerian political space ahead of the 2027, a movement known as the Shehi and Matawalle Project for Tinubu 2nd Term Mandate 2027 has been inaugurated in Kaduna in support of Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2nd term bid.

In his welcome address during the inauguration in Kaduna on Saturday, the Secretary General of the movement, Dr. Ahmad Hashim said the event marked the beginning of a renewed journey—a journey of loyalty, consolidation, and grassroots mobilization.

He said the Shehi and Matawalle Project is more than a campaign structure, but a strategic movement designed to ensure the continuity and consolidation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership come 2027.

According to Dr. Hashim, the project drew its strength from the loyal structures and enduring influence of two great sons of the Northwest – the Hon. Minister of State for Defence Bello Mohammed Matawalle, and Senator Abdulazeez Yari Abubakar, a political pillar and statesman.

Fielding questions from journalists, the Publicity Secretary of the group, Auwal Mohammed, described the alliance between the former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential Candidate of Labour Party in 2023 election, Peter Obi, former Governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-rufai, and others as a waste of time and resources.

While highliting reasons while Nigerians should support the Tinubu led-administration beyond 2027, Mohammed explained that the present administration under its ‘ Renwed Hope agenda’ has formulated people-oriented policies which is now driving the economy of the country to the right path.

Earlier in his remarks, the Zonal Coordinator of the group, Hon. Babangida Haruna Damba, explained that Tinubu has stabilized the economy and uplifted the poor through reforms and targeted programs, which according to him, include; economic reforms: fuel subsidy removal, FX unification, road rehabilitation, rural electrification, among others.

“As newly inaugurated executives, your mission is to mobilize, educate, and sustain the movement for the return of Bola Ahmed Tinubu come 2027,” Damba explained.

Speaking on the sideline, the SA on House Keeping to the Katsina State Governor, Mohammed Auwal, enjoined Nigerians to be patient with President Tinubu’s administration.

He noted that Nigeria was not the only country going through economic crisis but that such was a global issue. He however, urged Nigerians to be hopeful and pray for the survival of the country as the insecurity bedeviling the nation is surmountable.
