At least six more people, including children, have died of starvation in Gaza over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of hunger-related deaths to 175 since the war began. According to health officials in the enclave, the growing death toll includes 93 children, highlighting the devastating toll the conflict has taken on the most vulnerable.

UNICEF and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) report that more than 6,000 children have been treated for acute malnutrition, with thousands more at risk. Despite repeated international calls for increased humanitarian access, aid into Gaza remains critically insufficient. On Saturday, only 36 trucks entered the territory far below the estimated 600 trucks needed daily to meet basic food and medical needs.

Experts warn that Gaza is now on the brink of a full-scale famine. A recent UN-backed assessment states that food insecurity is expected to worsen drastically by September if the blockade and bombardments continue.

Local health workers say hospitals are overwhelmed and unable to care for malnourished patients due to a lack of food, fuel, and medical supplies.

The worsening hunger crisis has reignited global calls for an immediate ceasefire and unrestricted humanitarian corridors, but so far, no lasting agreement has been reached.
