KWAM 1 Placed on Six Month No Fly List After Airport Altercation

By Diafa Doubra,
Fuji music legend Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1, has been placed on a six month no fly list by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) following an alleged altercation with security personnel at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. According to reports, the incident occurred after a disagreement over security screening procedures, during which the singer was said to have verbally confronted aviation staff. The NCAA described the decision as a disciplinary measure aimed at maintaining order and respect for airport regulations.
Sources within the aviation sector revealed that the no fly order applies to all local and international flights, effectively grounding the music star until early next year unless it is overturned on appeal. While KWAM 1’s management has yet to release an official statement, fans and industry colleagues have expressed mixed reactions some calling the punishment excessive, others insisting that public figures should be held to the same standards as every other traveler. The NCAA maintains that the action is part of its broader policy to deter unruly behavior and ensure the safety of both passengers and staff.
