Late Chief Ekpegberigbaha Fuoye to Be Laid to Rest on Saturday August 9

The Elder Statesman Chief Ekpegberigbaha Robert Fuoye, fondly known by many as “Old Soldier.” who passed on at the age of 81 will be laid to rest in his Tuomo home Town Tomorrow Saturday August 9, 2025.

Congress gathered that late Chief Fuoye was known as a man for his wisdom, strength and dedication to his family and community services. He was affectionately nicknamed “Old Soldier” due to his resilient spirit and bold presence, “he remained a symbol of pride and unity in Tuomo and beyond” the statement urged.

In a brief by his son High Chief Thompson Fuoye disclosed that social wake-keep will be held on Friday August 8, 2025 till dawn and burial proper will be on Saturday August 9.

Venue: Tuomo Grammar School Field
Match: Amafini FC of Bayelsa vs. Tuomo FC

Friday, 8th August 2025
Time: 7:00 PM – Till Dawn
Event: Traditional Wake-Keep
Venue: Tuomo Community

Saturday, 9th August 2025
7:00 AM: Body departs Olodiama Mortuary, with a brief stop at the family compound, Tuomo, Burutu L.G.A, Delta State.
9:00 AM: Lying-in-State and Church Service
Venue: Esuku Primary School Field, Tuomo
11:00 AM: Final journey to the place of rest
12:00 NOON: Reception and Entertainment of Guests
Venue: Esuku Primary School Field, Tuomo

The family warmly invited the general public to join in giving a befitting farewell to a man who lived with dignity and left behind cherished memories.
