Arewa Cohesion Initiative Felicitates General Babangida on 84th Birthday

The Arewa Cohesion for Peace, Unity and Development Initiative has extended warm felicitations to General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, former President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, on the occasion of his 84th birthday.

The initiative described General Babangida as a father figure, elder statesman, and one of Nigeria’s most iconic leaders, whose wealth of experience, wisdom, and foresight continue to inspire generations.

The Director General of the Arewa Cohesion Initiative, Dr. Abdullahi Idris, recalled the warm reception accorded to the leadership of the initiative by General Babangida during a courtesy visit to his Hilltop residence in Minna.

He noted that the former President graciously endorsed the vision and objectives of the initiative, which aims to strengthen peace, unity, and development in Northern Nigeria.

Dr. Idris described General Babangida’s endorsement as a great source of encouragement, adding that his words of wisdom have continued to guide the initiative’s interventions.

He praised General Babangida’s commitment to the ideals of unity, justice, and progress, describing him as a revered elder statesman whose counsel remains invaluable to Nigeria’s democratic journey.

On behalf of the Arewa Cohesion family, Dr. Idris prayed Almighty Allah to bless General Babangida with continued good health, long life, and inner peace.

He noted that Nigeria and the North, in particular, would continue to benefit from General Babangida’s wisdom and fatherly guidance.
