Police Thwart Armed Break-In At Ibadan Glass Factory, Suspects Nabbed

The Oyo State Police Command has restated its resolve to safeguard local enterprises after preventing an armed burglary at a glass manufacturing firm in Ibadan on Wednesday, 17 September 2025.

According to police sources, armed intruders stormed the premises overnight but were swiftly intercepted following a distress call from a security guard on duty.

Officers responded promptly and arrested four suspects at the scene: Dennis Emmanuel (28), David Nsank (26), Oyebanji Quadri (27), and Olatunji Michael (25).

During the operation, police recovered stolen tools including a sledgehammer and hacksaws.

The suspects reportedly confessed to the crime during preliminary questioning.

Speaking on the incident, the Command emphasised the importance of small businesses to the state’s economy and vowed to ensure that those responsible face justice.

“Oyo State Police remain steadfast in protecting entrepreneurs and their investments.

“We will thoroughly investigate this crime and prosecute the culprits accordingly,” the statement read.

The Command further urged business owners to remain vigilant and to promptly report any suspicious activities, stressing that community cooperation is essential in creating a safer environment for commerce and innovation.
