Applications of religious tenants addresses leadership hitches

An Islamic Professor from Usumanu Danfodio University Sokoto, Jafaru Makau Kaura said, religious scriptures provided in-depth knowledge, insights and expected qualities for good leadership and development of society.

Professor Makau Kaura stated that while delivering a lecture on the foundation and role of Islamic leadership in shaping the future of Muslim Youths in Zamfara state, held at a leadership training workshop/ Retreat at Kaura Namoda Federal Polytechnic, Kaura, Zamfara State.

The Leadership training organized by Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN) Area Unit in collaboration with Kaura Namoda Emirate Council for the leadership of Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN) at various levels and the executive members of higher institutions of learning in the state.

“I’m optimistic that, translating religious scriptures written by the leaders of Sokoto caliphate, Usumanu Danfodio and Abdullahi Gwandu among others will be of immense benefits in shaping leadership for the progress of the society. Prof. Makau Kaura said.

In his separate presentation, Professor Ahmad Bello Dogarawa of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, virtually joined spoke on the topic “Crafting a strategic future for MSSN Zamfara State.

Prof. Dogarawa also urged the MSSN to extend its programmes to local personalities that excel in life as a lesson to the young ones and also to IDP’s Camps apart from utilizing social media handles as a means to carry alone people living in hard to reach areas.

Prof. Dogarawa identified so many challenges of leadership the union faces in Zamfara state with insecurity and social media handles taken the lead as well as the way forward.

Dr. Bala Muhammad of Bayero University, Kano also virtually presented a paper titled ” fostering collaboration: Building a cohesive and unified MSS community in Zamfara state, emphasized on ethical obligations as trustees, clear division of labour among other things.

Earlier, declaring the workshop open, the Ameer Area Unit, Zamfara State, Professor Lawal Sa’ad of the Federal University Gusau and the Ameer of A-Zone in charge of all Northern states including Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, Mal. Ado Garba Yankaji applauded the efforts of the Emir of Kaura, Sarkin Kiyawa Major Sanusi Muhammed Asha (rted) for making the workshop reality.

The Emir of Kaura Namoda, Major Sanusi Muhammed Asha (rted) commended the professors among other key speakers and reassured the readiness of his Emirate to collaborate more with the Union for the development of Zamfara State and the Nation at large.

The three day workshop is expected to round up tomorrow where the closing ceremony is to be graced by high profile personalities within and outside the state.
