A fact-finding committee has revealed the devastating toll of ongoing violence in Plateau State, disclosing that no fewer than 11,000 people have been killed across 420 communities in recent years.

The committee, set up to investigate the persistent clashes, noted that thousands of families have been displaced while farmlands and property worth billions of naira were destroyed. The report paints a grim picture of lives lost, communities razed, and children orphaned as a result of the conflict.

Stakeholders have called on the federal and state governments to act swiftly in addressing the crisis, warning that failure to curb the violence could escalate insecurity in the region. They stressed the need for justice, reconciliation, and tighter security measures to restore peace and rebuild the shattered communities.
