Zamfara first Lady: Nigerian women championed in fostering peace, stability and development

The Zamfara State First Lady, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal upheld the contributions of Nigerian women in fostering peace, stability and social development within their communities particularly, Governor’s wives.

Hajiya Hurriya stated this in her remarks at the 2025 United Nations International Day of Peace celebration held in New York, United States of America.

A statement by Rabi Yusuf, the Press Secretary the Zamfara State First lady described the participation of the first lady as an important opportunity to represent Zamfara State and Nigeria on the global stage.

“The contributions of Nigerian women particularly Governor’s wives in fostering peace, stability and social development within communities. The statement noted.

The Zamfara State first Lady, further called on women and youth to engage in acts of kindness, promoting unity and supporting sustainable development in their locality.

“She called on women and youth to be torchbearers of peace by engaging in acts of kindness, promoting unity and supporting sustainable development goals. The statement read.

Rabi Yusuf said, the presence of Zamfara the first lady at the global gathering reaffirms her vision of peaceful, prosperous and just society.

The Zamfara first lady said, the theme of this year’s United Nations International Day of Peace celebration emphasizes the importance of unity, collective action and justice in building a world anchored on peace and mutual understanding.

This year’s United Nations International Day of Peace celebration themed “Peace is a Verb, Act Now for a Peaceful World” was attended by higher profile caliber women across the world.
