By Micheal Chukwuebuka
Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, have neutralised fourteen terrorists in a series of coordinated operations conducted across Borno and Adamawa States over the past week.
According to military sources, the troops recorded significant successes between 22 and 27 September 2025. On 27 September, during an offensive operation at Loskori Kura in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State, troops killed eleven terrorists and recovered four AK-47 rifles, assorted arms and ammunition, as well as a cache of illicit drugs. Another terrorist was neutralised the same day during a night operation in Konduga Local Government Area.
Earlier, on 22 September, troops neutralised a Boko Haram scout at Kolori Karumi, west of Alau Dam in Konduga LGA. Similarly, on 24 September, a fighting patrol in Zar Village, Hong LGA of Adamawa State, recovered one AK-47 rifle, while troops at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Magumeri intercepted another rifle from two suspected kidnappers.
On 25 September, troops successfully repelled a large-scale attack on FOB Azir in Damboa LGA, killing one insurgent and recovering three AK-47 rifles, alongside materials intended for the fabrication of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
In addition to these battlefield successes, troops intensified efforts to disrupt terrorist logistics networks. On 27 September, security forces intercepted large quantities of urea fertiliser abandoned in shops at the Central Market, Mubi North — a substance often used in manufacturing explosives. The same day, patrols recovered twenty jerricans of smuggled Premium Motor Spirit along the Fillin Ball–Gella Road in Mubi South, after the smugglers fled the area.
The Military High Command commended the troops for their courage and professionalism, reaffirming its commitment to sustaining aggressive operations aimed at eliminating terrorism and restoring lasting peace in the North East.
