Peter Oboh Urges Nigerians to Celebrate Nation’s 65th Independence with Hope
As Nigeria marks its 65th Independence Anniversary, former British and Commonwealth boxing champion, Peter Oboh, has called on citizens to celebrate the milestone with optimism and renewed determination to build a better country.
Oboh, who spoke in Lagos on Tuesday, described 65 years of nationhood as a significant achievement, despite the challenges the country has faced over the decades. He commended Nigerians for their resilience and urged them to see the anniversary as a time for reflection and unity.
According to him, while the nation continues to grapple with issues of insecurity, poor electricity supply, and economic hardship, there is still hope for a brighter future if leaders and citizens work together in sincerity and patriotism.
Oboh, known for his motivational advocacy after retiring from boxing, encouraged Nigerians not to lose faith in the country but to remain steadfast in prayers and positive action toward national development.
He concluded by expressing optimism that with the right leadership and collective will, Nigeria will overcome its current struggles and fulfill its destiny as a leading force in Africa and the world.
