Reps Hail NDPHC Over 565MW Calabar Power Plant Performance

Members of the House of Representatives have commended the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) for its remarkable performance in managing the 565-megawatt Calabar Power Plant in Cross River State.
The commendation came during an oversight visit by the House Committee on Power to the facility on Tuesday. The lawmakers, led by the committee chairman, expressed satisfaction with the plant’s operational standards and its contribution to stabilizing electricity supply in the region.
Speaking during the visit, the NDPHC Executive Director in charge of generation, Mr. Joseph Ugbo, noted that the company remains committed to supporting the Federal Government’s efforts toward achieving stable and reliable electricity for Nigerians. He highlighted ongoing projects aimed at improving generation capacity and addressing technical challenges.
The lawmakers lauded NDPHC for its transparency, professionalism, and dedication, urging the company to sustain its momentum and continue prioritizing efficiency and accountability.
They also called on the government to provide more support for NDPHC and other power sector players, stressing that a stronger energy sector remains critical to driving industrial growth and national development.
