Youths are the central pillar of my administration – Gov Idris

Kebbi Governor Nasir Idris has reaffirmed that youth development remains a central pillar of his administration’s agenda, assuring of continued implementation of various empowerment and development programmes targeted at young people in the state.

The Governor made this known addressing different youth groups, student unions, and organizations at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi.

Governor Idris expressed delight over the massive turnout of youths, describing their show of support as a clear testimony of their confidence in his administration’s youth-friendly policies.

“This is a government for the youths, because you supported us wholeheartedly into power. Since assuming office, we lifted the embargo on employment and recruited over 2,000 youths as teachers, while another 2,148 young doctors, nurses, and other medical personnel were also employed,” he stated.

The Governor reassured the youths of his commitment to introducing sustainable empowerment initiatives and emphasized that education will remain free in Kebbi State, with the government taking full responsibility for its funding.

He commended the organizers for uniting the youths, stressing that their solidarity further strengthens his resolve to prioritize youth development.

Earlier, the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Nura Bala Fingilla, and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Students’ Affairs, Comrade Majo Muhammad, lauded Governor Idris for his consistent support to the youth.

They highlighted his administration’s payment of student scholarships and WAEC fees, as well as the inclusion of young people in his cabinet.
