A 43-year-old Nigerian billionaire, Chief Jite Odeworitse Tesigimoje, has once again stirred nationwide conversation after taking his 19th wife in a lavish ceremony that drew dignitaries, traditional rulers, and community leaders.

Tesigimoje, a prominent businessman and CEO of GIM Brown Marine, hails from the oil-rich Ugborodo community in Delta State. Known for his outspoken views, he insists that polygamy is not just a cultural practice but a natural truth that sustains love and passion in relationships.

In an exclusive interview, the businessman defended his choice, saying his large household represents unity and inclusiveness.

“Every man wants to marry two or three wives if he has the capacity,” he said. “When familiarity sets in, passion fades. That’s why men lose interest in their wives. Polygamy restores excitement and balance.”

According to him, the key to lasting intimacy, whether in polygamous or monogamous relationships, is maintaining some level of distance.

“If couples can’t afford separate apartments, they should at least have separate rooms,” he advised. “Distance and privacy keep love alive.”

Rejecting Western notions of monogamy, Tesigimoje argued that it was imposed by colonial powers and contradicts human instincts.

“Our colonial masters told us monogamy is ideal, yet they live in scandals,” he said. “Why lie? If you admire another woman, marry her—it’s better than deceit.”

He revealed that each of his 19 wives lives in a five-bedroom duplex and receives equal financial support and privileges.

“If I give one N250,000, everyone gets the same. That’s why my home is peaceful,” he explained, adding that all his wives attended his latest wedding in matching attire.

Tesigimoje emphasised that polygamy is not for everyone, stressing that it requires both wealth and emotional intelligence.

“You can’t afford to neglect anyone,” he warned.

When asked how he maintains his energy, the billionaire laughed and credited traditional practices.

“S+x is the best exercise. My father is almost 90 and still virile. We have herbs that keep a man strong,” he said.

His remarks have reignited debate across social media and among relationship experts, with some praising his honesty and generosity, while others question the sustainability and emotional depth of such a large family structure.

For Tesigimoje, however, the formula is simple: fairness, respect, and a belief that love thrives best when shared.
