A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Chike Okafor, has called on Nigerians to take voter registration seriously as preparations gradually build up towards the 2027 general elections. The lawmaker, who represents Ehime Mbano/Ihitte Uboma/Obowo Federal Constituency of Imo State, made the appeal while addressing party supporters during a grassroots mobilisation meeting.

Hon. Okafor emphasized that voter registration remains the foundation of democratic participation, noting that no one can influence governance or leadership choices without a valid voter’s card. He also reaffirmed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing his administration as one committed to economic recovery and national renewal despite current challenges.

The lawmaker encouraged youths and first-time voters to take advantage of the upcoming voter registration exercise to secure their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). He assured that continued political engagement and support for the ruling party would help consolidate democratic gains and ensure better representation for the people at both the state and federal levels.
