Tinubu’s Government Has Turned Forgery Into State Policy — Atiku’s Aide

By Diafa Doubra,
A spokesperson for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Paul Ibe, has accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of normalizing forgery and dishonesty in governance. Ibe made the remarks in reaction to the resignation of Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Geoffrey Nnaji, who stepped down over allegations of certificate forgery.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Ibe said the Tinubu-led government had “elevated forgery to the level of state policy,” claiming that several appointees within the administration faced similar allegations yet remained in office. He added that the trend undermines Nigeria’s global image and erodes public confidence in leadership.
The media aide urged Nigerians to demand greater transparency and accountability from those in power, stressing that the country’s moral fabric was being weakened by leaders who should lead by example. He also called on anti-graft agencies to act decisively, regardless of political affiliations, to restore credibility to public institutions.
The Presidency has not yet responded to Atiku’s aide’s comments, but the remarks have sparked fresh debate over integrity and ethics within the current administration.
