Cristiano Ronaldo has officially become the first footballer in history to reach billionaire status, with his net worth now estimated at an astonishing £1.04 billion, according to financial analysts at Bloomberg.

The 40-year-old Al-Nassr forward achieved the milestone following a comprehensive evaluation of his career earnings, endorsement deals, and investment portfolio, all adjusted for tax rates and market performance. Bloomberg reported that Ronaldo’s lucrative move to Saudi Arabia has “catapulted him to the top of the global sports rich list,” making him the first footballer ever to appear on its Billionaires Index.

Ronaldo’s fortune now significantly surpasses that of his long-time rival Lionel Messi, who currently plays for Inter Miami in the United States.

A major driver of his immense wealth is his lifetime partnership with Nike, valued at approximately £745 million, along with endorsement deals from top global brands including Tag Heuer, Armani, PokerStars, Samsung, Unilever, and Louis Vuitton.

The Portuguese star has also made substantial investments in luxury real estate, notably a £28 million mansion complex in his homeland. Known for his opulent lifestyle, he is often seen wearing rare jewellery and timepieces, including a Franck Muller Invisible Baguette Diamonds Imperial Tourbillon worth £1.13 million.

At Al-Nassr, Ronaldo commands a staggering annual salary of £167.9 million — roughly £300 per minute. He recently admitted he would prefer to play exclusively for Portugal, yet his record-breaking deal in Saudi Arabia, coupled with reports that he holds a stake in the club, continues to boost his ever-growing fortune.
