Army Launches Probe into Death of Officer Set Ablaze by Wife in Akwa Ibom

The Nigerian Army has begun a full-scale investigation into the tragic death of one of its officers who was allegedly set ablaze by his wife in Akwa Ibom State.
According to reports, the shocking incident occurred at the soldier’s residence within a military barracks in Uyo. Sources revealed that the wife allegedly doused her husband with petrol and set him on fire following a heated domestic dispute. The victim sustained severe burns and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Army authorities have confirmed that the suspect has been taken into custody while investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The military also expressed deep concern over the tragedy, describing it as both unfortunate and avoidable.
