Enugu Hairdresser Dies by Suicide After Catching Boyfriend With Another Woman

By Micheal Chukwuebuka
Tragedy struck in Enugu over the weekend as a 22-year-old hairstylist, identified as Miss Odama Mary Agado, reportedly took her own life after allegedly catching her boyfriend with another woman in an apartment she had rented for him.
According to sources, Mary, who was said to be doing well in her hairdressing business, had recently purchased a car and secured accommodation for her boyfriend. The discovery of his infidelity reportedly left her heartbroken and distraught.
A relative, identified as Daniel, told reporters that Mary returned to her apartment in tears and called her mother to recount the incident. During the call, she allegedly hinted at her intention to take her life, telling her mother to “take whatever followed in good faith.”
Tragically, her mother, who reportedly lacked airtime to call back or reach out for help, later received a distressing call informing her that Mary had ingested a poisonous substance known as Sniper. She was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
Her remains were taken to her hometown in Yala, Cross River State, where she was buried immediately.
The family stated that they chose not to involve the police, believing Mary acted on her own.
“We still can’t understand why she did it. Some say it was spiritual, but nothing can bring her back now,” Daniel said in a sorrowful tone.
