We cannot build the state of our dreams with persistent challenges of poor nutrition – Zamfara first lady

The Zamfara State first lady Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal said, the State Government is strongly committed to end malnutrition and hunger among its people.
The first lady expressed delight in joining her husband, Governor Dauda Lawal, at the official launching of the Nutrition 774 Programme in the state.
Hajiya Hurriya explained that, the Nutrition 774 Programme is aimed at promoting access to nutritious food across all 774 local government areas in Nigeria.
“The initiative was introduced to Zamfara by the Honourable Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Abdulmalik Gajam, in collaboration with Mrs. Uju Rochas-Anwukah, the Special Adviser to the Vice President on Public Health and Food Security. The first lady said.
A statement by the press secretary to the first lady, Rabi Yusuf noted that, the Governor’s remarks at the event deeply resonated with the first, particularly his assertion that “we cannot build the Zamfara of our dreams if the challenge of poor nutrition persists.
The First Lady further reaffirmed her commitment to support the programme through the ongoing food distribution and agricultural empowerment initiatives for women.
“This effort will continue to reach vulnerable families across the 14 local government areas of the state. Hajiya Hurriya promised.
Hajiya Hurriya Dauda Lawal also emphasized her dedication to ensure women and children have access to the nutritious food they require for healthy growth and development.
She further described the initiative as a major step toward lasting change, adding that, “God willing, we will continue to work hand in hand with our partners to build a healthier, stronger, and more prosperous Zamfara State.”
