Keyamo Pledges Stronger Support for Nigerian Airlines on International Routes
By Diafa Doubra,
Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), has reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to promoting local airline operators as the country expands its international flight network.
Speaking over the weekend, Keyamo said the government will continue to provide an enabling environment for Nigerian airlines to thrive and compete globally.
He highlighted the launch of the new Abuja–London Heathrow route, operated by a local carrier, as a major milestone in Nigeria’s aviation growth. According to him, the success of homegrown airlines is vital to national pride and economic sustainability.
Keyamo also emphasized the ministry’s ongoing reforms in safety regulation, route expansion, and infrastructure upgrades to position Nigeria as a key aviation hub in Africa.
