Kano Commissions New Gidan Mari Community Health center Donated by DG

The Kano State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, has officially commissioned the newly constructed Gidan Mari Community Health Post, a fully equipped facility built and donated by the Director General, Protocol Directorate, Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim Rogo.
The event which took place in Rogo Local Government Area, attracting key stakeholders and community members.

A statement by the Public Relations officer of the state ministry of health
Nabilusi Abubakar said, the Commissioner was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Pharmacist Aminu Bashir.
The Commissioner described the new health center as a remarkable contribution toward strengthening healthcare delivery services, not only for the Gidan Mari community but for Kano State at large.
“This gesture demonstrates a shared commitment to ensuring access to quality healthcare, particularly in underserved rural areas. Dr. Yusuf said.

The Honourable Commissioner further commended Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim Rogo for his dedication, generosity, and alignment with the state government’s ongoing efforts to upgrade primary healthcare infrastructure across the 44 local government areas.
“The facility has been formally handed over to the Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board (KSPHCMB) for effective management and utilization. The statement read.
Dr. Yusuf also stated that, the initiative is in harmony with the vision of His Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, to bring healthcare closer to the people and reduce the burden of preventable diseases at the grassroots.
“Community participation and private sector support remain critical in sustaining progress in the health sector. The statement said.
Also speaking at the event, the Director General, Kano State Healthcare Management Board (KSPHCMB), Professor Salisu Ahmad Ibrahim, lauded the donor for his foresight and humanitarian spirit.
“These facilities not only enhances healthcare access but also provides employment opportunities for local residents, thereby contributing to socioeconomic development. Prof. Salisu said.
In his remarks, a representative of the project committee, Malam Isyaku Bature, revealed that Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim Rogo has so far built two healthcare facilities within Rogo Local Government Area a testament to his enduring commitment to community development and public welfare.
Residents of Gidan Mari expressed heartfelt appreciation to the donor and the state government, describing the facility as a timely intervention that would ease their long-standing challenges in accessing medical services.
