FCT Police Reject Claims of Assassination Attack on Naval Officer Yerima

In a sharp rebuttal to circulating social media reports, the FCT Police Command has denied any attempted assassination of Naval Officer Lt. A.M. Yerima in Abuja.

In a statement, the police through their spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh declared the claims “baseless and unverified,” saying there was no record of such an incident anywhere in the Federal Capital Territory.

The clarification comes following reports that Lt. Yerima was trailed by men in unmarked vans, allegedly intent on harm. The narrative gained traction after the officer’s recent contentious face-off with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike over a disputed land site in the Gaduwa District.

The police urged the public to be cautious, dismiss unverified claims, and instead report any suspicious activity through proper channels.
