A group of suspected Fulani herdsmen allegedly severed a woman’s hand with a machete during an attack in the Barki Abdullahi (BAD) community in Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

The incident occurred on Saturday, 15 November 2025, while the woman was working on a farm.

The attackers, who have yet to be identified, also injured several other farmworkers, leaving them with varying degrees of injuries.

A resident of the community, who confirmed the incident, condemned the assault and urged the relevant authorities to ensure the perpetrators are swiftly apprehended.

The resident, identified simply as Esla, said the victims had been taken to a nearby clinic for medical treatment.

He added that fear now grips the community following the attack and appealed to the government to deploy security operatives to protect lives and property.
