CAN 215 Papiri school girls, 12 teachers were abducted in Niger state

Following an attack by suspected terrorists on the St. Mary’s Catholic Primary and Secondary Schools, Papiri in Agwarra local government area of Niger state, the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Niger State chapter, Most. Rev. Bulus Dauwa Yohanna has confirmed that a total of 227 persons including teachers and students were abducted.
A statement by the Media aide to the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Daniel Atori said, the school authority and security agencies are working round the clock to ensure the safe return of the kidnapped school girls.

“I have just got back to the village last night after I visited the school where I also met with parents of the children to assure them that we are working with the government and Security agencies to see that our children are rescued and brought back safely. Atori said.
“From our record, 215 pupils and students including 12 teachers were abducted by the terrorists. The statement read.
The Christian Association of Nigeria confirmed that, some school girls were escape during the attack while some parents stormed the school and carry their children.
“It is worthy to note that, during the terrorists attack, some students escaped and parents have started coming to pick up their children as the school has to be shut down.
“I want to call on everyone to remain calm and prayerful and I also want to assure you that we are actively collaborating with security Operatives, community leaders and government authorities for the safe and quick return of all abductees. The statement said.
