Zamfara State Government Commends Kano State government on Graduating Pioneer Neighborhood Watch Corps

The Zamfara State Government has commended the Kano State Government on the successful graduation and passing-out parade of the Pioneer Kano State Security Neighborhood Watch Corps, describing the initiative as timely, strategic, and highly commendable.

Speaking at the event held in the ancient city of Kano, the Zamfara state acting governor Mani Malam Mummuni Masamar Mudi who represented the governor Dauda lawal praised the administration of His Excellency, Abba Kabir Yusuf, for introducing a community-based security framework designed to complement the efforts of federal security agencies and enhance grassroots security.

The event was described as historic, marking a significant milestone in the history of Kano State under the current administration.

Mani Malam Mummuni Addressing invited guests, the delegation recalled that upon assumption of office in 2023, the Zamfara State Government introduced the Zamfara State Community Protection Guards (CPG), under which 2,400 personnel were recruited to strengthen community-level security operations. This initiative, similar to the Kano State Neighborhood Watch Corps, has recorded notable successes.

The deputy governor said In Zamfara State, the introduction of the Community Protection Guards has contributed to a significant reduction in banditry, kidnapping, cattle rustling, unlawful killings, drug abuse, and other social vices. To further consolidate peace, stability, and conflict prevention, the Zamfara State Government also established the Zamfara State Security Trust Fund.

On behalf of His Excellency, Dauda Lawal (Gamjin Gusau), and the people of Zamfara State, the delegation congratulated Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on the successful execution of the project and expressed confidence in its long-term success.

Although Governor Dauda Lawal was unable to attend the occasion in person due to his annual vacation, he conveyed his goodwill and mandated his deputy governor to led zamfara delegation deliver his message of support and congratulations.

The Zamfara State Government reaffirmed its commitment to inter-state collaboration in strengthening security, promoting peace, and safeguarding lives and property across the region.
