Clergy to Gather in Uga for Covenant Renewal Ceremony

Thousands of Christian clerics are set to converge on Uga, Anambra State, on 15 January 2025, for a significant covenant renewal gathering.

The event, organised by clergy affiliated with the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and the Biafra Independence Movement (BIM), is expected to attract around 3,000 participants, including bishops, pastors, and other church leaders from across the state.

Apostle Chukwuemeka Akunne, Anambra South Senatorial Zone leader of the group, stated that the meeting aims to express gratitude to God for answered prayers and spiritual guidance, describing it as an annual tradition marking significant moments in their spiritual journey.

“The gathering will serve as a period of thanksgiving, deep spiritual reflection, and renewed commitment to God,” Akunne said.

Apostle Cyril Ohanebo, Director of the Ihiala Legion, added that the event would be dedicated to communion with God, prayers, and thanksgiving, with the clerics using the occasion to appreciate God and celebrate anticipated better days ahead.

The organisers have urged participants to maintain unity, discipline, and a spirit of brotherhood throughout the programme.
