The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has carried out decisive close air support and precision air interdiction operations in the Azir and Musarram areas of Borno State, eliminating several terrorist elements and disrupting planned attacks.

According to a statement by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, the operations were conducted on 15 and 16 January 2026 in support of troops in contact, and underscore the NAF’s commitment to timely, intelligence-led air support.

Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, reaffirmed the NAF’s resolve to provide prompt and effective air support to ground forces, stating that the operations demonstrate the effectiveness of integrated air-to-ground collaboration in degrading terrorist capabilities and stabilising affected areas.
