The Secretariat of the Federal Capital Territory Administration has reopened for Official engagements following an interlocutory injunction granted by the National Industrial Court, compelling workers under the Joint Union Action Committee, JUAC to suspend their ongoing strike.

Onoze Yakubu reports that the National Industrial Court issued an order restraining JUAC and its leadership from continuing with the strike, pending the determination of a substantive suit filled by the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike and the FCTA.

The Court emphasized that the right to industrial action is not absolute and must cease once a dispute is referred to the Court.
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike urges Staff to resume, warning of legal consequences for non compliance.

He adds that his administration is open to genuine negotiations with the leadership of the union, but will not bow down to intimidation.

Despite the Court order, some FCTA Premises remained deserted on the first day of the order, with activities yet to fully pick up.

Security personnel were stationed at strategic locations within the FCTA premises to maintain order and prevent breakdown of law and order.

The President of the Joint Union Action Committee, JUAC Rifkatu Iorter says as a party to the suit she will abide with the court judgement declaring the strike as a Win Win situation.
