Federal Ministry of Livestock Delivers Vaccine to Bayelsa State

As part of the Federal government Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support program L-PRESS Project, the Federal ministry of Livestock Development has delivered livestock vaccines to Bayelsa State government.
Correspondent Ebinimi Zitimiyola reports that the vaccines are part of the nationwide vaccination exercise against Trans-Boundary Animal Diseases (TADs), aimed at improving breed quality, boosting farmers’ income, and reducing conflict by intensifying efforts to bolster the nation’s animal health system, to enhance productivity, protect livestock, and ensure food security across Nigeria. This initiative pursued through the implementation of the 2026 nationwide Trans-Boundary Animal Diseases (TADs) vaccination exercise, is a key component of the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRESS) Project.
Animal Husbandry Assistant and Legal Adviser of the L-PRESS Project, on behalf of the National Coordinator, delivered 10,000 doses of Contagious Bovine Pneumonia (CBPP) Vaccine, 50,000 doses of Newcastle Vaccine, and 500 doses of Foot-and-Mouth Disease Vaccine to Bayelsa State.
The initiative supported by the World Bank is expected to improve breed quality, boost farmers’ incomes, reduce conflict, and contribute to the nation’s food security agenda.
