The Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris has urged the Nigerlites to support the state government and the Federal government as both strive to grow the Nigerian economy. The Minister stated this at the fiftieth celebration of Niger state. He says Niger State at fifty years is more than a milestone, it is a testament to resilience, shared sacrifice, and the enduring hope of a people committed to progress.

The Minister in a statement says
as Niger State marks its golden jubilee, it is a celebration of a collective journey of the people, their achievements, struggles, and the promise that lies ahead.

It adds, the journey towards a truly united and prosperous Niger State is ongoing. Under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, deliberate efforts are being made to revitalise the economy across the federation, and Niger State continues to benefit from this national vision for growth, infrastructure renewal, and institutional reform.

The Minister therefore urges fellow Nigerlites to support the Governor of Niger State, Umaru Mohammed Bago, for the growth and development of Niger State.

Niger State was created in 1976 alongside Imo, Benue, Ogun, Ondo and Osun states. Known as the Power State, it occupies a unique place in Nigeria’s story as the largest state in the federation by landmass, contributing a large portion of the geography that constitutes the present Federal Capital Territory blessed with abundant natural resources.
