IGP Egbetokun Orders Tactical Teams To Kaiama; Track Down Perpetrators

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has ordered the immediate deployment of tactical, operational and intelligence assets to Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State following a brutal attack on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

In a statement, the IGP condemned the violence and expressed deep condolences to the families of the victims and the people of Kwara State. He reassured Nigerians that the Nigeria Police Force remains firmly committed to the protection of lives and property.

In response to the incident, security presence has been reinforced in Kaiama and neighbouring communities to restore calm and prevent further attacks.

The Police have also launched a full-scale manhunt for the perpetrators, vowing that those responsible will be tracked down and brought to justice.

Meanwhile, residents are urged to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies by providing credible information through the nearest police station or approved channels.
