‘Portable Took Advantage Of Me When I Was Young’ — Nollywood Actress

Nigerian actress and singer Ashabi Simple has spoken emotionally about her relationship with controversial street-pop artiste Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, alleging that he took advantage of her when she was young and inexperienced.

Ashabi, who is also one of Portable’s babymamas, made the disclosure during a recent interview in which she reflected on how the relationship began and the factors that influenced her decision to stay with the singer, despite his marital status and public controversies.

According to the actress, her initial experience with Portable was marked by care and attention, which later faded as the relationship progressed. She claimed that the singer exploited her youth and vulnerability at the time they met.

“Portable chanced me. He saw me as a young girl and cheated me. He used to be a caring person,” she said. “A single guy will not treat me that way.”

Ashabi further revealed that her ambitions in the movie industry played a significant role in her decision to remain in the relationship. She explained that she believed being with Portable would help her gain visibility and expand her career beyond Nigeria.

“I am with him because I want to go global in this movie business, and I know a single guy will not cope with that,” she added.

Speaking on Portable’s personal life, Ashabi noted that the singer, who is 32 years old, already has more than ten children, a reality that has continued to attract public attention and criticism.

Her comments have since sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many expressing sympathy for her experience, while others have questioned the power dynamics and choices involved in the relationship.
