NRS Chairman Canvasses Deployment Of Technology To Drive New Tax Laws

For the newly enacted tax laws in Nigeria to achieve its target in restructuring Nigeria’s tax administration framework for efficiency, the executive Chairman, Nigeria Revenue Service, NRS, Dr Zacch Adedeji says deployment of technology is critical.

NRS chairman stated this in Ogbomoso, Oyo State while delivering a lecture on the role of technology in implementing Nigeria’s tax laws at the combined maiden convocation ceremony of the Federal Polytechnic, Ayede, Ogbomoso

Ahmad Fulani reports that the maiden convocation lecture of the federal Polytechnic, Ayede, Ogbomoso by the Executive Chairman, Nigeria Revenue Service, Dr Zacch Adedeji drew academics, students, traditional rulers, council chairman and members including Ayede Community members to the institution

Dr Adedeji who commended President Tinubu for the initiative, enactment of the new tax laws in Nigeria, says deployment of technology will help to resolve bottlenecks in tax collection, allow tax authorities to embrace a paradigm shift from random audits towards risk-based assessment to protect tax payers and gain confidence of the public.

Speaker, House of representatives, Tajudeen Abbas represented, congratulated the institution for its key role in technical, vocational and entrepreneurial education within five years of establishment and reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to youth education and vocational skills development

Three hundred and twenty five graduating students for the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 academic sessions received awards of National Diploma, ND, of the institution after being found worthy in character and learning.
